Osmo Mobile Silver: Finally, A DJI Product for Girls

Since Phantom 2 was launched, every DJI event is a huge party for guys around the world to splurge on. And finally, it’s time for girls to join in, too—for DJI has launch the new product that every girl will love: Osmo Mobile Silver.

Highlights: color and beautify function

A silver base and gimbal makes the new Osmo Mobile look more elegant and alive, appealing not just to girls but also a geek like me. The color suits girls more than the previous black one.

The carrying pouch has been redesigned, too. Pity that it’s only included in the box and not available for sale.

As a device for taking selfies, it’s a must to have beautify functions to attract the girls. This function can be enabled whether you are taking photos, videos or doing live shows. But compared with other beautify apps, DJI GO is less powerful by simply smoothing and toning your skin, with little sliming effect.

Color is the only difference between a black Osmo Mobile and a silver one.

I love the 9-shot panorama function, letting me shoot amazing photos rather than taking ordinary selfies.

Try not to move when shooting panorama with person in it, or there could be bugs.

Though many smart phones can take panorama photos, shaking is a problem that can’t be solved. But with Osmo Mobile, shooting panorama is easy like never. Just a tap on the screen and it will do everything for you, including shooting and blending.

The M1 gimbal can go with the handheld base of Osmo, Osmo+, Osmo Pro and Osmo Raw. It’s like Zenmuse X3, which is interchangeable. When a base is mounted with M1 gimbal, it realizes everything Osmo Mobile does.

But one thing is different: when M1 is mounted on the above handheld bases, it requires Bluetooth connection, and uses your phone instead of any external devices for reception. It’s compatible with DJI Z-Axis for removing vertical shakings.

I tried M1+Z-Axis+Osmo handheld stick. It turned out to be quite effective in removing shakings, but it was too heavy. I would not suggest you try this.

All in all:

DJI Osmo series has expended a lot, but my favorite combination will be Osmo Pro + M1 gimbal. Osmo Pro can shoot cinematic videos, while mounted with M1 gimbal, it records your daily life with so much fun.
